Case study content
Tata Hitachi set out to move beyond product-led communication and bring their brand closer to the people who use their machines every day. The objective was not just to showcase performance but to tell real stories of how their machines enable livelihoods, growth, and long-term trust. To bring this vision to life, we partnered with Tata Hitachi to capture authentic customer narratives, beginning with Devaraja Chaji, a loyal, long-standing customer.
The challenge was to resist the temptation of over-stylisation and instead embrace simplicity. In an industry where communication often leans heavily on product features and polished visuals, the intent here was different: to keep the storytelling as raw and honest as possible. The focus had to remain on the individual, not the spectacle. No excessive cinematic treatment, no reliance on b-roll to carry the narrative, just a real person, telling a real story.
We realised early on that authenticity could not be manufactured, and more importantly, it could not be translated. To truly capture the emotional depth of Devaraja’s journey, the story had to be told in Kannada, his native language. This decision became central to the film, allowing the narrative to feel natural, unfiltered, and deeply personal.
With this approach in mind, the team travelled to Northern Karnataka, stepping into an environment that was as demanding as it was real. The shoot presented its own set of challenges: extreme heat, harsh lighting, and limited on-site resources. But instead of controlling the environment, we chose to adapt to it. Guided by a single principle: capture as much as possible without interfering with reality, the team focused on observation rather than direction, allowing moments to unfold organically.
The result is a story that reflects more than just a customer experience. It captures Devaraja Chaji’s journey of loyalty, consistency, and growth, highlighting how a sustained relationship with Tata Hitachi has not only supported his work but also strengthened his connection to the brand over time. It is a story that shows how trust is built gradually, through reliability, performance, and shared progress.
Ultimately, the film stands as a reminder that while machines build infrastructure, it is people, relationships, and belief that build everything else. Through this collaboration, Tata Hitachi shifted from showcasing machines to showcasing impact, to telling a story that feels honest, grounded, and deeply human.
